Praise
What made David different from others in the Bible?
David was a man after God’s own heart. He was a worshipper.
He praised God in everything. He gave thanks in everything; that gave him confidence. He was confident to defeat Goliath in Jesus name!
Praise and trust in God’s word produced faith and confidence which pleased God. God moved on his behalf.
Paul and Silas praised God even when they were beaten, put in jail and chained on their feet. They sang praises to God. As a result of their praise, God sent an earthquake, which broke the doors down in the jail. Nowadays, if we are put in jail for the sake of Christ, we will cry, doubt and fear may take over on us. However, that is not the case with Paul and Silas! They did the opposite! They praised God for who He is and what He can and will do!
What is the difference from then and now? We are serving the same God that Paul and Silas believed in. We are serving the same God that raised Lazarus from the dead. We are serving the same God that told the blind men, “according to your faith be it unto you”.
Without faith it is impossible to please God! We must praise and worship Him in spirit and in truth knowing that He is the same God that healed, delivered and set free in the Bible days.
We have more power now because we have Christ in us.
I encourage you to meditate on these scriptures this week.
Galatians 3:27, “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ”.
Romans 8:17, “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together”.
